Collection: Kanga Leso

The kanga (also known as leso or shuka) from Kenya is made from cotton fabric and can be used as a sarong, scarf, shawl, wrap, head wrap, substitute for an apron, baby carrier, bed throw, sofa throw, picnic cloth, table cloth, to make décor products, to make fashion items… and whatever your imagination allows! 

It usually comes in vibrant colors and traces its roots among communities of the Kenyan and Tanzanian coastline in East Africa.  Its beauty and versatility has been well received by other African communities and across the globe. 

A kanga usually has a message/saying/slogan on it.  Traditionally, the message/saying/slogan was used as a means of communication from one person to another, that is; one would wear a kanga with a particular message to communicate something to an individual or people; or someone could gift another a specific kanga with a specific message that they wanted to pass across.
